Besides, when you put together the team of Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, who have already woven magic in films like Bheja Fry, Mithya, Dasvidaniya, you would obviously get a heady mix of great direction, narration and performances as seen in Raat Gayi Baat Gayi.

Right enough, the film is garnering rave reviews from all quarters. Not only has the comedy and direction been appreciated but the performances have been called perfect as well — whether they are of the lead actors or even the supporting cast like Dalip Tahil and Navneet Nishan. Clever, funny, witty and refreshing is what most critics are calling the film. What works in the film’s favour is that it is small and smart and not over the top at all.

Here are some of the other offbeat movies that will be releasing this year. Deviating from romantic comedies would be a horror flick Click, directed by Sangeeth Sivan, starring Shreyas Talpade, Sada, Sneha Ulhal and Chunky Pandey. Then there would be the much talked about Ek Tho Chance, which sees the return of Saeed Mirza as a director after over a decade.

The film stars Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Purab Kohli, Amrita Arora, Zafar Karachiwala, Vijay Raaz, Pawan Malhotra, Ali Fazal, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sadia Siddiqui, Saurabh Shukla and is a dramatic representation of everyone who comes to Mumbai, the city of dreams and magic.

There is also the psychological drama, Ek Accident starring Shiney Ahuja, Soha Ali Khan, Juhi Chawla, Rahul Dev, Honey Chaya and directed by Abhijit Chaudhiri.
Then there are Fatso and Saluun, which have already made it to the international film festivals. While Fatso is a romantic comedy directed by Rajat Kapoor and starring Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam, and Gunjan Baksh, the social comedy Saluun stars Gaurav Kapur, Razak Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Murli Sharma,Brijendra Kala, Chitranjan Giri, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Gayatri Choudhari and is directed by Nikhil Bhat.
