The class 12 and class 10 examinations of the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), 2015 commenced on Monday.

Students of class 12 appeared for their English paper on the first day. Kevin M Matthews, a class 12 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hebbal, said: “Although the paper was very easy, it was quite lengthy. I, however, managed to finish all the questions. I found the questions quite balanced,” he said. Class 10 students had their examination in various vocational based courses such as automobile technology, information technology, retail to name a few.

As many as 10,40,368 students registered for the class 12 exams and 13,73,853 students registered for the class 10 examinations, a marginal increase from last year. There were 10,29,874 registered for class 12 and 13,28,970 for class 10 last year.

This might also be attributed to the increase in the number of schools. While the class 12 exams will go on till April 20, the class 10 exams will be held till March 26.
