<p>A 65-year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants in west Delhi’s Najafgarh late on Tuesday.</p>.<p><br />Police suspect the attack to be a part of a gang war, but are yet to make any arrest.<br />It has also been linked to the case in which four bodies were found charred in a car in Haryana in January.</p>.<p><br />Victim Rohtash Singh lived with his family in Mitraon village.<br />“Rohtash was on the first floor of the house when two men on a motorcycle came to meet him,” a police officer said.<br /><br />As he reached downstairs, he got involved in a heated argument with them.<br />It is alleged that the two assailants then opened indiscriminate firing and fled.<br />Rohtash sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the attack, and his family members rushed to help on hearing the commotion.<br /><br />Locals then informed police. Rohtash was taken to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.<br /><br />A case of murder under Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been registered with Baba Haridas Nagar police station.<br /><br />After an initial probe, police said Rohtash was the father of a man named Gopal, who was allegedly involved in the killing of four men in January.</p>.<p><br />They were victims of revenge killing in a gang war in Najafgarh.<br />Police say gangs of Ravinder and Naveen Khati are rivals over supremacy in Najafgarh.</p>.<p><br />In the wee hours of January 1, Manish, Sandeep, Sudhir and Deepak, residents of Mitraon village, were shot dead when they were returning home after New Year celebrations.<br /><br />The bodies were then kept in a Toyota Etios car, which was taken to Haryana’s Jhajjar district and set on fire.<br /><br />Skeletons were found in the car’s trunk and on the rear seat on January 1.<br />“As Rohtash was a senior citizen with no criminal history, we suspect he was attacked over the gang war involving his son,” the officer added.<br /></p>
