Corruption charges: Show cause notice to Cesc officials

Show cause notices were served on the engineers of Hunsur and Bilikere sub-stations of Cesc, in the taluk, even as the tri-monthly KDP progress review meeting was going on, here, on Saturday.

 During the meeting, chaired by MLA H P Manjunath, farmers from Hangod and Kallahalli stormed into the Taluk Panchayat Hall and complained that the engineers had not given power connection to their irrigation pumpsets even after taking bribes. 

Gopamma and Lokesh alleged that they had to make repeated visits, in vain, even after they were forced to pay bribe by Cesc officials Govindaraju, Nagaraju, Assistant Executive Engineer Raju and others. Cesc officials were taken to task by the MLA and ZP member C T Rajanna.

Meanwhile, Manjunath took up the issue with Cesc managing director over mobile phone, who in turn made arrangements immediately to serve the notices on the officials in question.

The MLA directed the Taluk Health Officer to make recommendation to suspend nurse P C Sheela of Hangod Primary Health Centre for not seeking the permission of the Health and Family Welfare department before levelling allegations, before the media, against Medical Officer Dr Jogendranath.
