Vishwas creates Holi photo op, reaches out to Yadav

AAP leader Kumar Vishwas reached out to Yogendra Yadav on Holi, two days after he presided over the national executive meeting which ousted his colleague from the party's decision-making body.

Vishwas went to Yadav’s residence on Friday to offer Holi wishes. Later, both appeared before the media together outside Yadav's home.

“We have to learn from Yogendra bhai on how a politician should put across his point in a polite manner. We will go to Prashant Bhushan’s place also,” Vishwas told reporters.

Both refused to comment on the rift which led to the expulsion of Yadav and Bhushan from the political affairs committee of the Aam Aadmi Party. “It’s the day of Holi, let us move ahead,” Yadav said.

On Saturday, Yadav too struck a conciliatory note. “There is a party discipline on what to speak in public and what not. I would rather confine myself to party discipline,” he told reporters.

The AAP leader said he wanted to work for the cause of farmers and take forward the Jai Kisan Abhiyan, an AAP initiative against the recent “anti-farmer” land acquisation bill.
Also in a show of solidarity, AAP volunteers took part in the Holi celebrations at Yadav’s residence and posed for photographs with him.

But Bhushan reportedly didn’t meet Vishwas on Friday. “Bhushan didn’t meet Vishwas on Holi. He might have been busy with other things,” a source close to the AAP leader said.
“They shared a good relationship before Vishwas sided with Arvind Kejriwal, who once wanted him out,” the source added.

On Wednesday, the AAPs national executive passed a resolution to free Yadav and Bhushan of their responsibilities as PAC members, after a rift between them and party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

“Prashant Bushan and Yogendra Yadav will be given new responsibilities,” Vishwas had then said.
