A woman has allegedly killed her two daughters by pushing them into a pond and has committed suicide by jumping into it, at Maharnavamidoddi village, in Maddur taluk, Mandya district, on Sunday. The deceased are Nagamma (30), wife of Venkatesh, Spandana (6) and Reshma (2). The reason for the incident is yet to be ascertained.
According to villagers, Nagamma was married to Venkatesh 12 years ago and there was no major issue between them.
Three days ago, Nagamma had left home with her children telling Venkatesh that she wants to visit her parental home at Dyapasandra, in Mandya taluk.
When Venkatesh learnt that Nagamma did not visit her parent’s house, he started searching for them.
On Sunday morning, passersby informed that the bodies of a woman and two children were floating in the pond. Venkatesh rushed to the spot and confirmed them to be Nagamma and his children. Besagarahalli police have registered a case.
