A date with summer

Summer is the best time for fashion. The spring and summer sales are all around the City and one can get the best of apparels and look cool this hot summer. While the ‘Little Black Dress’ (LBD) is a must in a fashionable lady’s wardrobe, it is the ‘Little Printed Dress’ (LPD) that is a summer wardrobe necessity. Just slip on a simple dress and you are ready to storm out in style.

It is time to tint your wardrobe with brightly hued rig-outs as summers are meant to be shining and colourful. Shed the layering business and get hold of some fun vibrant shapes with great prints. “The summer is going to get warmer and one can look hotter in these short dresses. These apparels need minimum make-up and accessories. One can just slip on a cool dress and beat the heat with some sunscreen on,” says Amruthavarshini Gowda, a professional. “Backless, tube, sleeveless...the options available in these dresses are plenty and also they are very comfortable attire for this flaming season,” she adds.

While the little printed dress can be a perfect look for this summer, there are many other short dresses that can blow the heat. One can go for light and bright coloured attire to avoid the heat and a little white dress can make for this perfect look. One can even pick the most summery dress of all – ‘kaftan’ — and pair it with a long simple chain and walk out in style. A multifaceted attire, it can also be worn on a denim to suit the occasion.
Summer time calls to shed away the figure-hugging clothes and single out for more casual wears with simple fits. The T-shirt dress paired with a thin waist belt can be a perfect dinner and a date wear.

“Summer is all about vibrant hues. This is the perfect time to go bold with comfortable and right dresses that suits one the finest. You can be at your creative best, as you can experiment with new things for these summer wears and  and express your style boldly this hot summer,” says Shilpika Devaiah, a medical student.

“Summer time is a make-up free season. Just a pretty dress with some sunscreen on, and you are ready in a jiffy. One can even get creative with the look with altered hairstyles and go for minimum or no accessories. And the best footwear can be anything from flip-flops to sneakers, depending on the style and cut of the dress,” says Ankita Mitra, a professional.

Another professional, Soumya Jampana says that she prefers comfort over style. She adds that these dresses are a perfect combination of comfort and style and they can beat out the heat on this hot spell.

While sunscreen is the remedy to keep oneself away from the burnt skin, one can even go for a cooler look by pairing these dresses with stylish glasses along with some sun straw hats. “I like to keep the style fresh by rocking in a breezy summer dress to fight out the toasty season. The look gets hotter when these dresses are paired with stylish sun straw hats or pleated peaked hats,” sums up Prarthana Rajshekar.
