A 26-year-old bus conductor was crushed to death by a bus at a depot in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala on Monday.

Bus driver Rakesh has been arrested and booked for causing death by negligence.
The accident took place when Rakesh, 28, was reversing a cluster bus to take it out of the Delhi Transport Corporation depot around 8 am.

Both, the driver and the victim conductor Kamal Kumar, 26, had just reported to duty for the day. Kamal was set to board another bus in a few minutes time.

Rakesh apparently did not see Kamal standing behind the bus that he was reversing. By the time other DTC personnel could realise what was happening, Kamal had been run over.
He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The accused and the victim were both employed on contract basis.

Traffic cop saves constable
A Delhi Police constable on a motorcycle had a fortunate escape because of the alertness shown by a traffic policeman in north Delhi’s Sant Nagar Monday.

Constable Ansuya Prasad posted at Grater Kailash police station was travelling by motorcycle around noon when his vehicle got hooked to a school bus behind him.

Traffic police constable Suresh Ram happened to notice this and rushed to help Prasad. Prasad and his motorcycle were dragged for over a metre before Ram alerted the bus driver. He then helped Prasad get off the motorcycle and unhooked the two-wheeler from the bus.
