<p>In the leadership of MLAs, the BJP leaders in the district, urged the government to hand over IAS officer D K Ravi's death case to CBI.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Staging a protest in front of DC’s office in Madikeri on Friday, MLA K G Bopaiah, MLA Appacchu Ranjan, district BJP Unit President Mandepanda Suja Kushalappa, General Secretary A Manu Uttappa and other leaders urged for the CBI inquiry.<br /><br />The protestors alleged that the government is unnecessarily adamant on CID inquiry, even when the parents of D K Ravi are demanding CBI probe. They questioned why the CM was hesitating to handover the case to CBI. They meanwhile condemned the stand of Home Minister K J George. MLA Appacchu Ranjan alleged that the state government is trying to bury the issue. They warned of intensifying the fight within the assembly. <br /><br />Loss to nation<br />Deputy Commissioner Anuragh Tewari termed the death of IAS officer D K Ravi as a loss to the nation.<br /><br />He recalled that Ravi was his junior by two years and Ravi often shared his thoughts of public welfare programmes with him.<br /><br />He always thought about the welfare of poor and had chalked out many programmes for weaker sections, Tewari said.<br /><br />The DC further said that Ravi, who hailed from a financially weaker family, made it to the post of IAS officer, through hard work. Despite his busy schedule, he used to guide IAS candidates every Sunday. His death is a loss to the Nation and not only to the state, Tewari added.<br /><br /></p>
