Three Delhi Jal Board officials were suspended on charges of corruption on Tuesday.
The matter has also been referred to the Anti Corruption Branch to ascertain the loss caused by their act of corruption.
Those placed under suspension are executive engineer S P Singh, assistant engineer Surender Pal Singh Rana and accounts officer Jai Pal Sharma. They connived in sewer-line projects. The projects were only on papers and no work was done on ground.
The case came to the fore after the DJB ordered special audit of the works executed by Sewer Development Works Division. The audit reports were later forwarded to the Vigilance Department.
The Vigilance Department then inspected some projects executed from 2012 to 2014. It was found that two projects were not executed at the sites mentioned on paper.
It has also been decided to blacklist the contractors who executed the projects.
