<p>A group which had been creating havoc in Rajajinagar, Malleswaram and Basaveshwarnagar areas by indulging in drag racing and doing dangerous wheelie stunts has been nabbed.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Babu Irugamareddy, 28, a mechanic from Kurubarahalli; Balaji, 19, of L N Pura; Imraan, 25, a mechanic from Laggere; and Kaushik, 23, of Mahalakshmipuram, are the arrested. <br /><br />Balaji is pursuing PUC, while Kaushik is a call centre employee, said the police.<br />Four bikes have been recovered from them.<br /><br />The Rajajinagar traffic police had constituted a special team after they received complaints of drag racing and wheelie. Though the four were not known to each other, they often indulged in such acts on S Nijalingappa Road. Many patients, women and elderly persons had lodged complaints with the police about the nuisance between 11 am and 2 pm. Plainclothesmen arrested them, said the police.<br /><br />“We booked them under IMV 190 (using vehicle in unsafe condition) and IPC Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way). They indulged in reckless driving and never wore helmets. They were produced before the court and were remanded in judicial custody till April 8.<br /></p>
