Senior Congress leader Margaret Alva is penning her autobiography that is expected to hit stands by this year.

Speaking to media after addressing the women entrepreneurs at a programme organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Mysuru unit and Young Indians, an organisation here on Friday, Alva the former governor of Rajasthan said ‘I started to write my biography during my tenure as the gubernatorial head of the desert State. It is in the final stages’.

Alva said ‘The biography is in English and will be translated into Kannada, as told by the publishers’.

Reacting to media queries, Alva however denied to disclose further including the title, as the tome will be hitting stands later.

On her political aspirations if any, Alva who sounded to stay apolitical for sometime after serving in various capacities for 45 long years in Congress party, said ‘there is nothing called retirement in politics. The politics today is more of tension, rather than cooperation’.

On the long heard buzz in the Congress circles about paving way for younger generation, Alva said ‘the party should be a mix of experienced and young leaders’.
