SSLC exams from Monday

 As many as 8.56 lakh students will take the SSLC exam that begins across the State on Monday.

There are 4.52 lakh boys and 4.03 lakh girls. Freshers account for 8,07,494, private candidates 16,337 and repeaters 32,607. Students of 13,693 schools (5,053 government schools, 3,308 aided schools and 5,332 unaided schools) are taking the exam.

Ban orders will be enforced within the 200-metre radius of exam centres. There will be a ban on anyone approaching exam centres within the radius during the exams. All photocopy shops near the exam centres will be shut, said a release.

There are 3,038 exam centres across the State. Of them, 148 have been identified as sensitive and 50 as hyper sensitive centres. For complaints related to the exam, the Block Education Officer and the DDPI or the mobile squads can be contacted, according to officials. There are also helplines (080-23310075 and 080-23310076) which will be operational till April 13.

The evaluation for question papers will begin on April 19 at 211 centres.
