CCTVs put up at SSLC exam centres

CC cameras have been installed in 56 SSLC examination centres to check malpractices during the exams which will commence from March 30, said Deputy Commissioner B S Shekarappa.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, he said that the district has 66 examination centres. All measures have been taken to conduct the exams smoothly. Seven squads have been formed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Zilla Panchayat CEO, SP, DDPI, district education officer, DIET Deputy Director and Education department project coordinator.

The district has eight sensitive and hyper sensitive centres. The hyper sensitive centres are MES Girls High School and St Joseph’s Boys High School. The sensitive centres are Devanoor Lakshmeesha Composite PU College, Nidaghatta Reva Siddeshwara High SChool, Government PU College (Aldoor), Poornaprajna High SChool, Sangameshwarapete, Hemagiri Mallikarjuna High SChool and Sri Maheshwara High School (Kudloor).

The DC said that there are eight centres in Birur, 19 in Chikkamagaluru, 11 in Kadur, four in Koppa, six in Mudigere, four in N R Pura, two in Sringeri and 12 in Tarikere.
For the first time Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation system is being introduced for the SSLC students.

Accordingly, they will be 20 marks internal assessment and will have to write the exams for 80 marks except for first language.

A health worker will be deployed to each examination centre. The district had received pass percentage of 84.35 per cent during 2014-15 and was placed 13th in the state result. Measures had been taken to increase the passpercentage in the district, the DC added.

In Chikkamagaluru district, a total of 16,626 students will write the exam. This includes 15,712 fresh students.

In Kodagu DDPI G R Basavaraju said the students have already received hall tickets to write the exams. Elaborate measures have been taken to check malpractices. A total of 9,054 students will write the exam.
