They sold like hot cakes

 
M R Kumar of Higginbothams Private Limited on M G Road sold 788 pairs of goggles, each priced at Rs 25. Expecting a demand, they had procured 600 goggles.

“The goggles were just flying off our counters and by noon all were sold out. We had to turn down nearly 200 more due to lack of stocks,” informs M R Kumar, Cashier. “We then ordered 200 more and 188 of this too has got sold.”

It is the first time the shop dealt with goggles and they were clearly pleased with the business it brought. There was no advertisement barring a single board placed outside stating ‘Nebula solar goggles available here.’ Kumar adds, “The tremendous interest among the public about this eclipse was more interesting than the business it brought in.”
