The protest was scheduled to be held on Friday. However, it was postponed due to solar eclipse. Speaking to presspersons, senior sports trainer C V Shanker said “the stadium was meant for hockey, football and cricket. No athlete has come out of this stadium. I can not understand the logic behind laying athletic tracks.”

“If sports department can not maintain the stadium, let them not spoil it. Let the stadium be maintained by Karnataka State Cricket Association. If the stadium is maintained well, then it can even host Ranji tournament.”

Cauvery Sene district Convener Ravi Changappa said “for laying indoor stadium, 300 year old trees were felled. With the laying of tracks and concrete gallery, the maidan will be completely spoiled.”

Owing to the solar eclipse, large people did not attend the protest. As a result, the protest was postponed. If Land Army Corporation starts the work on laying track, then we will stop the work, he warned.

“One of the elected representative has warned of initiating action against those coming in the way of development works. However, Cauvery Sene will not bow its head to such warnings. Protesting against mining, the Sene members have been put behind the bar for 56 days. The elected representative should withdraw his statements,” he urged.  Kreeda Premigala Sangha President Appanna, Madhu Bopanna and others spoke.
