One Killed

An unknown woman, aged 25-30, was killed on the spot when a speeding BMTC bus, going towards Richmond Road, hit her while she was crossing the Campbell Junction on Mother Teresa Road here on Saturday.

No detail was available about the deceased. A young child, who was with her at the time of the accident, escaped unhurt and has been handed over to the government-run orphanage Shishu Vihar in Wilson Garden. The body is kept at Bowring Hospital. The police are tracing the deceased's family.

Twelve arrested

The City police have zeroed in on 12 suspects involved in different crimes reported from different parts of the City, including a recent murder, and recovered jewellery and bikes worth Rs 7.3 lakh.

Rajagopalnagar police arrested R Ravi Kumar (25) of Sunkadkatte, Raghu Naik (23) of Panchavati Tanda, Kunigal taluk and KG Paramesh (21) of Kuppe village, Kunigal Tanda and recovered bikes worth Rs 7 lakh. They had stolen the bikes from Rajagopalnagar, Nandini Layout, Magadi Road, Vijayanagar and Jnanabharati police limits using duplicate keys.
