As a prankster, he was hot property on the air. RJ Naveen, whose prank shows on the radio were a big hit, is now giving jitters to film-goers of Sandalwood, as a villain of repute. “It’s been my dream to act as a villain and I finally made it,” Naveen, who played the bad man in Raavana, told Metrolife.

Naveen says being the bad guy on the screen gives him the licence to experiment. “No villain will ever have the same gait, fighting style and looks. You can experiment and play around a great deal when it comes to a villainous role,” he reasons. “You have a wider space. I will never accept any other role apart from that of a villain. It’s better to be natural on screen than be made-up,” he adds.

Naveen seems to have impressed the Sandalwoodwallahs, for he has offers pouring his way. He will be playing cop with Shivanna in Thamassu and will be the bad man in Yaksha. So will he quit RJing altogether for acting? “Oh no never. I’d juggle both,” he beams.
Tinsel town is full of gossip. What’s it like for him? “I believe that any publicity is good publicity. But I must add here that bad publicity is definitely not nice but I will take it in my stride,” he signs off.
