64th Bus Day today

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will observe the 64th Bus Day on Monday to encourage the use of public transport.

Along with the usual operation of 6,265 schedules with 76,689 trips, arrangements have been made to operate all the schedules without any cancellation.

In addition to this, more than 1,500 general shift schedules will be operated beyond their normal duration to 22 hours on Bus Day. The additional trips are planned to accommodate the demand on the day.

The Bus Day will be observed in certain corridors including Old Airport Road (ITPL), Sarjapura Road, Hosur Road, Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road, Mysuru Road, Magadi Road, Tumakuru Road, Ballari Road, Thanisandra Road, Hennur Road and Old Madras Road.

* Route No Chakra-5 from Vijayanagar to Vijayanagar via KHB Colony, Kamakshipalya, Kottigepalya, Sunkadakatte, D Group Layout, Muddayanapalya, Balaji Layout, AIT and Nagarabhavi Circle with one schedule.

* Route No Chakra-5A from Vijayanagar to Vijayanagar via Income Tax Layout, Nagarbhavi Circle, AIT, Balaji Layout, Muddayanapalya, D Group Layout and KHB Colony with one schedule.

* Route No 500-CT from Central Silk Board to Tin Factory via Agara, Marathahalli Bridge with two schedules.

* Route No 505-C from Electronic City Wipro Gate to Tin Factroy via Hosa Road, Chennakeshavanagar, B Reddy Circle (Kudlu), Kasavanahalli, Kaikondrahalli, Bellandur Gate, Sarjapura Signal, Kadubeesanahalli, Marathahalli Bridge with one schedule.
