<p>Husband of a sexual assault victim, daughter of a retired IAS officer, appeared for enquiry at the V V Puram Police Station, here, on Monday. The man in question is facing the charge of attempt to murder his elder brother at their house in V V Mohalla, in the city, in November last.<br /><br />The accused, accompanied by his wife and in-laws, arrived at the station. The police recorded the statement of the accused as per the procedure. The accused has already obtained an anticipatory bail from a local court, after his brother Dr Prabudha Harsha Murthy lodged a complaint in this regard on February 17, three months after the incident.<br /><br />Dr Harsha, in his complaint, has alleged that his brother assaulted him with a sickle after picking a row with him at their V V Mohalla house on that day.</p>.<p>Dr Harsha is also facing the charge of sexually assaulting his sister-in-law (younger brother’s wife) when the latter was eight months pregnant, on November 11, 2014. <br /><br />Following a complaint from the aforementioned woman, the V V Puram Police have booked a case of sexual assault against Dr Harsha and abetment and dowry harassment charges against his parents Dr C B Murthy and Nalina Murthy.<br /><br />The Murthy couple, who have been granted anticipatory bail by the Seventh District and Sessions Court recently, appeared for enquiry on Monday at the office of ACP (N R Sub-division) Umesh G Shet. The police recorded the statement of Nalina, it is learnt.</p>.<p>‘Weapon supplier’ seeks bail<br /><br />Naveen Jain, a relative of Dr C B Murthy, who is charged of supplying weapon is learnt to have filed a plea for anticipatory bail at the Seventh Additional District and Sessions Court in the city. Order on the plea is expected on Tuesday.<br /><br />In her complaint to V V Puram police, a retired IAS officer’s daughter (Murthy’s daughter-in-law) had alleged that Naveen had supplied weapons to her brother-in-law. “Naveen has a notorious reputation, and was also constantly threatening us of dire consequences...,” she has alleged.<br /> </p>
