The Lokayukta police on Monday took two engineers of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike into custody in connection with the fake bills scam in Rajarajeshwarinagar division.
A senior Lokayukta police official said that the fresh FIR registered in this regard on Monday also names Rajarajeshwarinagar MLA Muniratna.
A team of Lokayukta officials on Monday searched the BBMP office at Rajarajeshwarinagar and took two executive engineers into custody for questioning. The FIR stated that the officials created fake bills on works executed in the past.
The engineers taken into custody are being questioned on the fake bills created for 25 different works in Rajarajeshwarinagar division. It may be recalled that Lokayukta police had raided a house belonging to Muniratna in Vyalikaval where BBMP officials were creating fake bills pertaining to works in Rajarajeshwarinagar division.
