Meenakshi Devi Wodeyar passes away

Meenakshi Devi Wodeyar, the elder sister of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar died of multi-organ failure at Vikram Hospitals in the City on Thursday.

Wodeyar(63), who is the second daughter of Tripura Sundari Ammani and Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar was admitted to Vikram Hospitals last week after she suffered from Septicemia, a type of infection in the blood. She breathed her last at 3.45 pm on Thursday according to a family member.

Devi was frequently hospitalized since the past 45 days. She suffered from septicemia even earlier and it was a relapse last week that led to multiple organ failure.

She was a cardiac patient since 1994. In 2012, she underwent a cardiac surgery. However, in 2014 again, she developed other complications
