When nine-year-old Tayyaba from Uttar Pradesh wrote to the prime minister to ask his help for her heart surgery, she did not expect a reply.
But when the PMO wrote back to her a couple of days ago to inform her that the surgery was fixed at Delhi’s G B Pant hospital, the girl was ecstatic.
Tayyaba, a third standard student in Agra town, was advised to undergo a heart surgery to fix a hole, but the Rs 3 lakh needed for the surgery was far beyond what her father, a daily wage labourer, could afford. The PMO’s letter has asked the girl’s family to furnish some additional details to undergo the surgery.
