'Jnana Degula' in B'luru on May 23, 24

To help students who are anxious to take the crucial next step in their fledgling education career, Deccan Herald and Prajavani have organised a two-day fair ‘Jnana Degula’ on May 23 and 24 at Jayamahal Palace Hotel grounds in the city.


The event will feature a pre-counselling guidance session for the Common Entrance Test (CET) candidates and those who have appeared for the undergraduate entrance test conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K).

Besides, there will be a career counselling session and lectures by eminent members from the industry and academia.

Exhibitors to take part
There will also be representation from various universities and institutions in the fields of engineering, medicine, architecture, banking, hotel and business management, fashion designing, aeronautics, animation, business administration, et al. The event will also have a host of exhibitors.

Key speakers
On May 23, the inaugural address on the topic ‘Opportunities - Igniting the future,’ will be delivered by former IAS officer M N Vidyashankar, who is the president of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA).

It will be followed by a lecture on ‘What does Management Education Do for Your Career?’ by Prof S Raghunath, Professor of Corporate Strategy and Policy, IIM- Bangalore.

Sushama Godbole, Director, Department of Pre University Education and Executive Director of Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), will deliver a talk on ‘CET Procedures and Pre-Counselling Session on CET’.

This will be followed by a talk on ‘Pre-Counselling Session on Comed-K’ by Prof Dr Nanda Kishore Alva.

On May 24,  Narendra Bhandari, Director of Intel Software a nd  Services Group, Intel Asia Pacific and Japan, will speak on the topic, ‘Skills for Digital Future’.
