BMTC numbers  half-visible

The route numbers on the BMTC buses are not displayed properly. Kannada numbers are written above the English numbers, so the English numbers are only half-visible.
And most times numbers are in double colour — half-red half-yellow or yellow number with red border. There is no uniformity as numbers are in different sizes and shapes.
There is no fixed place for route boards either. The electronic display boards are ornamental. Since Bangalore is a cosmopolitan City, the route number should be in English for the benefit of all commuters. The route numbers should be in single colour for those from the rural areas.

In Chennai, the fare is comparatively very low, the minimum fare for two or three kms is only rupees two, whereas in Bangalore, it is rupees five up to the next stop. I request the BMTC authorities to at least display the route numbers properly for the benefit of commuters and reduce the minimum fare.

Bad roads

We, the residents of Laggere, Peenya would like to bring the following to your kind information. J C Nagar, Kurubarahalli 17th Main Road, is a link road connecting to Outer Ring Road near Laggere, Peenya.

It is a short-cut to Peenya Industrial Area through the over-bridge to the Ring Road near Freedom Fighters’ Layout at Laggere. Though narrow and very steep, the road has become very busy, due to the close proximity to the City, which reduces the distance to nearly five to six km than the normal route of Tumkur Road to reach Laggere or Peenya.
The stretch of this road is invariably in a bad shape and it becomes worse during rainy season due to the relentless movement of all types of vehicles.

The road was asphalted about ten years ago by the then CMC, Dasarahalli. But today it is difficult to trace the asphalt on the so-called road; thanks to the traffic and the frequent digging of the road for various reasons. Due to the bad condition of the road, many accidents take place regularly.

Will the concerned authorities look in to this?
