CM making false claims on Anna Bhagya Scheme: BJP

State BJP General Secretary and MLA C T Ravi has said though the State government has been publicising on Anna Bhagya Scheme, the  fact is nearly 85 per cent of rice for Anna Bhagya scheme was being supplied by the Centre. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is claiming publicity by pasting his photo on rice bags. 

Briefing reporters, he said the State government requires 24,24,000 mt rice under Anna Bhagya scheme, of which, 24,17,403 mt rice is being supplied by Centre. The remaining 7,000 mt is being procured by State government. “If State has capacity, then it should supply grains from its own resources without depending on the Centre,” he said.   MLC Gayathri Shanthe Gowda had alleged that MLA was responsible for delay in completing Karagada drinking water project. 

Howver, he clarified that he has no role in getting the project delayed. “The labourers were assaulted at the work site at Hanike on Friday. There has been assault on the labourers for the last one month. However, no police protection has been given so far,” he said. 

The MLC was silent till the last day of filing nominations for the gram panchayat polls when the residents were staging a protest boycotting the election. On the last day of filing nominations, she appealed to the residents to take part in the election process. The MLA said minister Shivaraj Tangadi had promised to complete the project by March 2014. By providing police security, Karagada drinking water project should be completed at the earliest.  The MLA said “with interference of MLC, Rs 2.80 crore under KMRP scheme has returned back to the government. The alternative projects proposed under Nagarothana scheme has not received approval,” he said.

Jana Kalyana melaRavi said as NDA government is completing one year term in power, over 500 meetings will be held from May 26 to 31 across the country. In the backdrop of gram panchayat polls, the State BJP will organise “Jana kalyana mela” from June 6 to 12. Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad will arrive Bengaluru on May 26 and will inaugurate Anthyodaya programme. 

The state leaders will travel across the state and will inform the public on the development programmes initiated by the Centre under the name “Saal ek, shuruvath anek.”
