KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said, a list of 800 Congress leaders and workers is ready to be nominated as chairpersons and members and it would be announced after the completion of the Grama Panchayat elections.

He was addressing media persons, here, on Thursday, during his visit to the city to attend the coronation ceremony of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar as the 27th king of the Yadu dynasty.

Speaking about the GP elections, he said, most of the seats would be won by Congress supported candidates as the people are happy with the performance of the government since two years.

“Already Congress-backed candidates top the list of unanimously elected GP members,” he added.
Pointing at the recent statements of the BJP president Amit Shah on Article 370 and Ram temple at Ayodhya, Dr Parameshwar said, the hidden agenda of the BJP, as suspected by the Congress during the election campaigning last year, is slowly being unleashed.

Describing the coronation of Wadiyar as a ‘historical event, he said, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar has been instrumental in conserving the heritage and tradition of the erstwhile Mysuru State.

He said, the Wadiyars were exceptional rulers and strived for the welfare of the people. “The school and hospital buildings, roads and canals for irrigation constructed by the Wadiyars are still serving the people,” he said.

He said, Yaduveer is the youthful face of royalty to match the modern times. “He has big challenges before him to take forward the heritage and traditions of the Yadu dynasty,” he added.
