A man was shot dead by three men in a gang war in south-west Delhi’s Najafgarh on Friday.

It was an attack to avenge death of one of the assailants’ brother, police said on Saturday.

Ravindra Sharma, 38, lived with his family at Khera Dabar village and was a security guard with a private hospital. Police said the attack took place when he returned home at 9 pm.
“The three assailants had been waiting in a car near Ravindra’s house. They fired nine rounds. Four hit Ravindra in the chest and abdomen,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) R A Sanjeev.

They tried to flee but locals overpowered Karamveer,  35. Ravindra was rushed to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Karamveer told police the names of his accomplices as Shakti and Anil. He also said Shakti had a grudge against Ravindra, whose younger brother Lagan allegedly killed Shakti’s brother Sajjan in 2014.
