Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate R Killivalavan, also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused, N G Arunkumar, a CBI release said here on Thursday.
Under Sec 420 IPC
He was convicted under section 420 IPC (cheating) and section 66 of IT Act (hacking). CBI investigated the case following a complaint from PIB.
Investigations revealed that Arunkumar logged on to BSNL broadband internet connection and made alteration in the computer database pertaining to broadband internet user accounts of 52 subscribers, the release said.
