A youth was killed by three friends, including a juvenile, after he refused to help one of them in seeking revenge from his close friend in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri. The accused have been arrested, police said on Friday.

A probe was taken up after Sultanpuri-resident Dharmendra Kumar was found stabbed on Wednesday evening. He was declared brought dead at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
His elder brother Jitendra’s statement was recorded by Sultanpuri police station in which he accused Dharmendra’s three friends — Abhimanyu and Deepak, both 21, and a juvenile.

In his statement to police, Jitendra said his family hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district and stays at a rented house in Sultanpuri. He had last seen Dharmendra with the accused.

“Dharmendra was sitting in a park with his friends at around 6.30 pm when I told him to return home. But he said he would come back soon,” Jitendra said.

Attack

When Dharmendra did not return even after two hours, Jitendra went to the park where he saw his brother being attacked by his friends.

The accused stabbed Dharmendra, and fled when Jitendra raised an alarm. It was learnt on Thursday that the accused may come to Sultanpuri C-Block District Park.

“A team subsequently nabbed them at the instance of an informer,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sanjay Kumar.

The three accused told police that Abhimanyu was beaten by one Maleta and Nonu on Wednesday.

Revenge

Dharmendra was a close friend of Nonu. Abhimanyu told his friends Deepak and the juvenile about the incident and planned to take revenge.

Abhimanyu then procured a knife and they started searching Nonu, but could not find him.
At about 6 pm, they met Dharmendra and tried to convince him to help them.

Dharmendra, however, refused to do so, following which they planned to eliminate him as well.

“Abhimanyu and Deepak overpowered Dharmendra, while the juvenile stabbed him,” Kumar added.
