BU VC's chamber broken into

The office room of the Bangalore University vice chancellor on the Jnanbharathi campus was found broken open on Monday. However, the police are yet to ascertain if any valuable was missing.

DCP (Central) Sandeep Patil, in-charge DCP (West), told Deccan Herald that a few people who noticed the locks of the vice chancellor’s chamber broken, called up the university authorities.

“A complaint was lodged after thorough verification. We have taken up the case based on the complaint. It is not known if any valuables have been stolen from the chamber,” he said. Vice chancellor B Thimme Gowda said he was yet to take a look at what was missing as he was at the Central College on Monday.The miscreants have gained entry through the ventilator, he said.
