Three chain-snatching cases were reported in different parts of the City on Friday. As many as 10 such incidents were reported on Thursday.

The police said two chain-snatching incidents were reported in the HAL police limits alone.
Around 10.30 am, the victim Indra, 45, a resident of Doddanekundi, was walking back home after visiting a temple, when two bike-borne men came from the rear and snatched away her 100gm gold chain and fled the spot, said the police.

Around 11.15 am, the duo rode towards Munnekolala and snatched an 80gm chain from Rajeshwari, 60, a resident of Munnekolala, while she was feeding the dogs outside her house.

In another incident, two bike-borne men made away with the gold chain from a 62-year-old woman near JP Nagar second phase. Around 2.30 pm, Banumathi was walking back home along with her grandson and as they neared their house, the two men ripped a 60gm gold chain from her neck and escaped, the police said.

A senior police officer said, “In HAL police limits, it is suspected that both the incidents occurred within 45 minutes. So, we believe the same gang is involved in both the offences. After which they might have gone towards JP Nagar and robbed another victim.”
