The ‘Bhagya’ schemes being implemented by State government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will not help the nation. On the contrary, they are destroying the nation, opined litterateur S L Byrappa.

Speaking to a section of media during his visit to Chikkamagaluru on Saturday, he said “in the name of social justice, the chief minister is trying to guarantee vote for him and is implementing Anna Bhagya, Shaadi Bhagya, and other schemes. The beneficiaries of Anna Bhagya are selling the rice at Rs 10 per kg. The schemes have created lazy people.”
“Everyone should work for his livelihood. There is no alternative to generation of employment to free the state from hunger. There is a need for setting up of industries to generate employment,” he added.

How many employments have been generated after Siddaramaiah came to power? he asked and said that former chief minister S M Krishna was responsible for the setting up of electronic city, which gave Bengaluru the name of silicon valley. However, owing to the negligence of Siddaramaiah, a few mega industries were taken away by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, he said.

To a query on being dubbed as right wing writer, the litterateur said “I wrire in my right hand. I can not even sign using my left hand. I have confidence in what I write. Those who want to dub me as right wing writer, I am not bothered about them.”
