<p>The incident occurred at around 6 pm, when H S Uthappa, Joint Commissioner for Labour parked his car near the Unity Buildings and went to a nearby hotel for coffee. <br />Police said that unidentified persons made away with his briefcase which was left in the car, while his driver M Ramakrishnappa was busy parking the vehicle. <br /><br />The briefcase contained several important documents on child labour and minimum wages. The files were to be submitted to Labour Minister Bache Gowda for his approval. The briefcase also contained documents of his official car, records of his government service, credit and debit cards and bank pass books, besides Rs 6,000 cash. A case has been registered at S J Park police station.<br /><br />Driver nabbed<br /><br />Passersby caught hold of a truck driver who was driving away after allegedly knocking down a woman in Bannerghatta on Friday morning and handed him over to the police. <br />The truck knocked down an unidentified woman of about 55 years on Gottigere Road, inflicting serious injuries on her, and sped away. Some people rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, while a few chased the truck. They managed to intercept the truck and caught the driver on NICE Road. The woman died on way to hospital. <br /><br />Cyber fraud: 2 held<br /><br />The Cyber Crime Police of CID arrested two persons who allegedly hacked bank accounts and transferred the money to their account. The arrested persons are Mohammad Shanawaz (30) and V Syed Abuthahir (35) from Chennai.<br /><br />In April last year, N G Krishna Kumar, a resident of Malleswaram complained to police that Rs 5.94 lakh had been fraudulently transferred out of his ICICI bank account at the bank’s Airport branch, Bangalore. Investigation revealed that after hacking the account of the complainant, the money was transferred to a number of ICICI bank account holders in various cities, for eventual use by the two persons.<br /><br />Two held for slaying friend<br /><br />The police on Thursday arrested two cab drivers for stabbing their friend to death in Kadugodi police station limits here on Wednesday night. <br /><br />Yogesh (24) and Mohan (22) of Garudacharpalya and working for Ravi Travels had allegedly hacked their friend Mariswamy (25), also a cab driver, to death before pouring kerosene on his body and setting it ablaze near Sadar Mandal on Hoody Main Road around 1 pm. <br /><br />Police said Mariswamy had fallen in love with Yogesh's sister, which had enraged Yogesh and he conspired to eliminate Mariswamy with the help of his friend Mohan. The accused were produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate who remanded them to 14 days' judicial custody. <br /><br /></p>
