Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that pro-poor schemes like ‘Anna Bhagya’ would continue despite criticism.
“Just for political reasons, some are saying that such schemes make people lazy. But the purpose of the scheme is to make the State hunger-free and ensure two meals daily for everybody,” he said. Former chief minister H D Kumara-swamy had, on Monday, said the Bhagya schemes were making people lazy.
Speaking after dedicating ‘Krishi Bhagya’ and ‘Krishi Yantradhare’ schemes at Samshi village in the taluk on Tuesday, he said ‘Anna Bhagya’ was helping farmers also as the government was purchasing paddy, wheat, and other food grains from them.
