Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate two of the seven TenderSURE roads in the City on Saturday.

The chief minister will formally dedicate St Mark’s Road and Vittal Mallya Road to the public, a day after inaugurating the flyovers constructed by the BDA. This despite the fact that there are still some segments on the stretch the work on which has not been completed.

The BBMP has claimed that it has set an example for a smart city by taking up the TenderSURE project as it has put efficient networks of water, sewage, power, drainage and telecom cables on these roads. The project provides enough space to the pedestrians as well as the cyclists with features such as footpaths with uniform width, utility ducts, tertiary stormwater drainage system, junctions across entire road, bus bays, auto bays, cycle lanes and LED streetlights. TenderSURE has been portrayed as an important project as it involves six civic agencies working in tandem.

Under this project, seven roads have been identified with a total length of 9.19 km, and the overall cost of the project is estimated at Rs 115.33 crore. The length of the Vittal Mallya Road and the St Marks Road is 1.5 km, the construction cost of which is estimated at Rs 25 crore. The two roads have two bus bays and 17 parking bays.
