BMTC buses take three lives

A 35-year-old man was run over by a BMTC bus (route no 89) on Kurabarahalli Main Road in Vijayanagar on Friday morning.

Vijay Kumar, a resident of Kamala Nagar was on his way to work when the bus snuffed out his life.

Swamy (30), riding a motorcycle was knocked down by a bus in Audugodi last night. A resident of Machenahalli, he was a shop owner.

A 60-year-old woman was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus knocked her down in White Field. The accident occurred near Ramagondanahalli bus shelter when the woman was trying to cross the road. She sustained head injuries and died. The bus driver fled leaving the bus, police said.

3 injured in LPG leakage

A home maker sustained severe burn injuries while her husband and uncle sustained minor injuries in a fire mishap due to LPG leakage in Banaswadi on Saturday morning.
The injured Gajalakshmi (30) is battling for life at a hospital, while her husband Rajesh (42) and uncle Jayashankar are out of danger.

According to the police, Gajalakshmi entered the kitchen in her house in second floor in Subbaiahanapalya in Krishnaiah layout on ITC Road and lit the fire to prepare tea. The gas that had leaked from the cylinder caught fire. Rajesh and Jayashankar rushed to her rescue and also sustained injuries. Neighbours rushed to the spot and put off the fire. Rajesh is in hospital, while Jayashankar was treated as an outpatient.
