Distinct as its culture, the Japanese food too has a fanciful taste attached to it. Based on rice and accompanied by soup and pickles, each course is served in its own bowl for each individual portion. Getting this extravagant cuisine to the City in style is Edo, the Japanese bar and restaurant in ITC Gardenia.

A noted restaurant in ITC Gardenia’s culinary crown, it is now presenting ‘Sensei Serenade’, to help gastronomers learn the nuances of the vast and rich Japanese culinary culture along with an exclusive lunch session with chef Kamlesh Joshi, who will be taking classes and showcasing the fine art of Japanese cuisine. The customers attending the session will be divided in a group of eight and each one can dabble in the art of making a different variety of ‘sushi’ and ‘tempura’ paired with invitational ‘sochu’ cocktails.

Born in an Army family, chef Kamlesh always had a creative mind. This made him choose the art of Japanese culinary. Grooving his skills under Japanese chefs, he is now an expert in this culinary art. He joined Edo in 2010 and has been experimenting with various styles of ‘sushi’ and covered the entire spectrum between traditional and trendy.

Apart from the interactive session, the restaurant offers ‘sashimi’ and Japanese grills along with a wide array of ‘sushis’.

There is something for the vegetarians too as the restaurant offers steamed and baked ‘furo fuki daikon’, ‘yasai takiawase’, grilled mixed vegetables ‘yasai itame’, ‘somen’, zaru soba’ and plenty more. They also serve complete meal ‘Edo Bento Box’ for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, which is an artful arrangement of different components of the meal. It showcases the ‘Izakaya’ style of dining that originated during the Edo period. ‘Sensei Serenade’ is an ongoing festival at Edo and the sessions begin at 12.30 pm. For reservations, call 22119898.
