Woman raped for 9 years

A 30-year-old woman alleged that she was being repeatedly raped for nine years by her father in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar.

The accused is absconding since the woman took her brother’s help to complain with police. An FIR has been filed.

The family lives in the servants’ quarters of a house in Shankar Vihar. The woman claimed that she also had two children with her father, who had threatened to kill her if she revealed the sexual abuse to other members of the family.

The accused is a driver, while his wife works as a domestic help in nearby houses.
The couple has seven children and the complainant is their eldest daughter.

“Fed up with the torture, the woman had narrated her ordeal to her brother on Tuesday. The siblings then approached police,” said a police officer.

In her statement, the woman told police that she was first raped by her father in 2006 and he has since been repeatedly raping her whenever they were alone at the house.
She also claimed to have had two children — a six-year-old and a three-year-old — with her father.

It is alleged that the man also tried to rape his daughter when she was alone at the house on Tuesday.

When she resisted his attempts, the man allegedly threw her out of the house.
The woman then went to her brother’s house and told him about her ordeal.

They informed their father and went to Vasant Vihar police station.
Fearing his arrest, the accused also fled from his house.

The family has also been forced to leave the Shankar Vihar house after their neighbours learnt about the woman’s allegations.

A case under Indian Penal Code has been filed over the woman’s statement with Vasant Vihar police station.
