Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls may have been scheduled for early 2017, however the nominations, it appears, are up for grabs if one is ready to shell out the right amount of money

.

A ticket aspirant, said to be a BSP leader, was reportedly “spotted” with a “carton full of currency notes” at the circuit house in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut town, about 450 kilometres from here, where leaders of two prominent political parties had been staying.

The two prominent leaders, who were at the circuit house then, included a senior UP minister and a BSP leader, who is considered to be close to the party supremo Mayawati.

According to sources, the ticket aspirant, who was accompanied by another person, were taking the carton inside the circuit house, when its seams burst exposing the currently notes. A photo journalist, who happened to be there, clicked a few shots of the carton clearly showing the bundle of currency notes.

The flash of the camera triggered panic among the two carton bearers and they made a hasty retreat toward their vehicle and quickly sped away. The photographs of the carton filled with currency notes, however, went viral on the social networking sites prompting a series of reactions from almost all major political players.
