Changing weather can take its toll on the human body. Especially when monsoons set in, it’s hard to ignore the common cold, fungal infections and water-borne diseases. But don’t fret, homeopathy has solutions for every problem. Homeopathy is a holistic treatment which believes in the theory of ‘like for like’ and is completely natural.

* Viral infections can be generally avoided by keeping oneself warm, not entering an AC room with damp hair and clothes and drinking something hot after getting drenched. For sudden bursts of viral fevers, homoeopathic medicines act as a preventive measure that aid the immune system. Remedies like aconite, gelsemium, pulsatilla andbelladona help to relieve the flu-like symptoms.

* Fungal infections that affect the foot can be avoided by wearing dry gumboots before going out. Avoid walking barefoot. Diabetics should be aware of foot care measures, especially in monsoon. For such infections, homoeopathic medicines like allium cepa, tellurium and petroleum work well against the fungus.

* Ailments like gastroenteritis and jaundice are the nastiest troubles in monsoon. They can be prevented by drinking boiled water, eating freshly cooked food and avoiding roadside fare. Boiling water for five to ten minutes more after it starts boiling is the most effective way to fight the spores. Prefer bottled water when eating out as impure water can cause gastro-intestinal tract infections. If infected, you can rely on remedies like zingiber, natrum sulphicurum and arsenic album.

Note: Please consult a qualified homoeopath before taking any homoeopathic medicines.
