A film institute student was found dead at his house at Attiguppe in Chandra Layout on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Karan, 22. He was pursuing a course at the Government Film and Television Institute in Hesaraghatta.

On Wednesday, at around 9 pm, he told his parents that he would sleep for a while and went into his bedroom. Around 11 pm, his parents Muralikrishna, a doctor, and Pushpavathi, an employee in the commercial taxes department, knocked on his bedroom door, but there was no response.

The parents got worried and with the help of the neighbours, they broke open the door and found him sleeping. They tried waking him up, but he did not respond. They rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
