The State, which was to receive average rainfall of 117 mm up to July 13, received only 45 mm rainfall. <br /><br /></p>.<p>In June, however, Karnataka received 199 mm against the average of 117 mm, Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad told the Legislative Council on Thursday. <br /><br />But between June 1 and July 13, the average received just 244 mm as against 312 mm, showing a shortfall of 22 per cent. <br /><br />Energy Minister D K Shivakumar told the Council that there was shortage of 8-10 per cent of power in the State. <br /><br />The Energy minister said that the demand was growing by 10 per cent every year on an average.
