A new beginning

Campus corner

The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the guests of honour followed by a reading from the holy scriptures, post which the choir of Jyoti Nivas rendered a song. After the prayer, the college’s principal, Sister Louisa addressed the gathering and gave all the young girls a sound and sensible advice for their future. The Sister’s address was followed by speeches of students, with a student from each stream taking the stage.
Aditi D’Souza from Science, Trishikha Kumari from Commerce, Aalankreetha from Arts and Anusha Priya from Electronics echoed the feelings of the students, as they shared their thoughts on leaving college. Father Arok Sundar’s address followed shortly. He advised the students to put their education to good use by giving their best in everything they do.
For a majority of students, the most touching part of the ceremony was a presentation by Disha Kapasi, which contained pictures of every memorable event that took place in  college. Post this, Professor Radhakrishna addressed the students and urged them to take fierce action as this is a time when women are rising far above the reaches of men, be it in any field.

The ceremony was concluded with the students saying a pledge, singing the college anthem and lighting their candles. This was headed by Sister Philomena, the head of the degree and the director of post graduate courses.
