Bengaluru boy wins silver at Chemistry Olympiad

Ameet S Deshpande, a student of FIITJEE Bangalore, has made the country proud by securing a silver medal for his exhibition at the 47th edition of International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2015 held recently in Baku, Azerbaijan.

As many as 300 young chemists from five continents and 75 countries took part and he was one among four Indian students who emerged victorious at the event. “I have always loved Chemistry and I am extremely proud that I could compete and win at the international level. This achievement gives me immense confidence in my abilities. To master the subject, it is very important to have teachers who teach you the concepts inside out,” said Deshpande.

The 47th International Chemistry Olympiad was supported by the Government of India through its Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD).
