Monsoon active in 3 dists

A couple of districts in the State continued to receive good rainfall on Tuesday too. Uttar Kannada, Shivamogga and parts of Tumakuru districts have received rains.

Monsoon was active in Uttar Kannada district and all the three regions, the coastal region, the Malnad region and the plains, received good rainfall on Tuesday.

Bhatkal, Honnavar and Ankola in the coastal region received intermittent rainfall throughout the day. Sirsi, Siddapur and Yellapur in the Malnad region received sporadic rainfall, while Haliyal and Mundagod which come under the plains, also received scattered rainfall.

Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Shivamogga district on Tuesday.

Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Bhadravathi, Shivamogga, Sorab, Sagar and some parts of Shikaripur taluks received intermittent rainfall throughout the day. Following good rains, farmers have expedited agriculture activities in the fields. Water level in the Linganamakki dam rose to 1783.40 feet against the maximum level of 1819 feet as the catchment area in the dam received 32.2 mm of rainfall. The inflow into the dam was 7676 cusecs and the outflow stood at 5, 584 cusecs. 
  
Parts of Tumakuru district have received light to moderate rains on Tuesday. While Tumakuru and Gubbi taluk recorded moderate rainfall, parts of Koratagere, Madhugiri and Tiptur taluks witnessed light showers.

Agricultural activities have gained pace at villages under Kora, Hebburu and Urdigere hoblis of Tumakuru taluk.
