People constructing houses might face stringent action if their sites turn into breeding ground for vector-borne diseases.
Alarmed by the rising dengue cases in the City, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner G Kumar Naik has directed the ward-level and division-level engineers to act tough against the owners of the buildings and under-construction sites where water stagnation is found.
While directing the health officers to start public awareness campaign, Naik has instructed the ward-level engineers to identify houses with water stagnation.
He has asked the BBMP zonal-level officers to conduct awareness campaigns
at schools, colleges, residential and industrial localities with the help of medical and nursing college students in this regard.
