CM hits the campaign trail

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress president G Parameshwara on Thursday hit the campaign trail for the BBMP polls.

The two leaders, accompanied by the party candidates, conducted roadshows at Lakkasandra, Koramangala, Ejipura, Jakkasandra, Madivala, BTM and SG Palya in the evening. They also addressed small gatherings at some main roads, urging people to vote for the party. The chief minister kept up his attack on the BJP and charged it with rendering Bengaluru a garbage city.

AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka, Digvijaya Singh, is scheduled to join Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara in the campaign on Friday. The leaders are scheduled to campaign in Shantinagar, Chamarajpet and Shivajinagar assembly constituencies between 9.30 am and 10 pm.

Candidates take oath
The Congress candidates on Thursday took an oath in the presence of Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara stating that they would discharge their duties as per the 74th amendment of the Constitution of India and that they would give priority to the party’s principles.
