The City police have temporarily diverted traffic on various routes in the city to facilitate civic works taken up by the Corporation.

According to Police Commissioner B Dayananda, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has taken up road cutting works on Old Bank Road (Sardar Vallababhai Patel Road) as part of Raja Marga project. Henceforth, vehicles moving towards Sayyaji Rao Road from Old Bank Road side, shall move south from Dasaprakash Hotel junction towards Shivaram Road and reach Sayyaji Rao Road. In the return direction, barring KSRTC city buses, vehicles moving from Sayyaji Rao Road towards Old Bank Road should take Benki Nawab Street from KR Hospital side. KSRTC buses can take Irwin Road from Government Ayurveda College and Hospital junction and reach Doddagadiyaara junction through Nehru Circle and Ashoka Road.

On the other side, the MCC has taken up works on building deck slabs to facilitate the flow of rainwater, between Highway Circle in Bannimantap and Ideal Jawa Factory junction at Yadavagiri. So, vehicles moving towards the factory junction at Yadavagiri from Highway Circle in Bannimantap, should take an alternative route.

Barring heavy motor vehicles (HMVs), the other vehicles should move towards Ganesha Sawmill Road from Highway junction, take a right and reach Medara Keri Main Road up to Jawa Factory Road. Heavy motor vehicles may move towards Jodi Tenginamara Road and reach outer ring road junction.

Similarly, following the bridge works at the intersection of Mysuru-Nanjangud Road and Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road at Sahukar Channaiah Kusti Akhada junction, vehicles should move towards Gun House junction and take left to reach Mysuru-Nanjangud road.

In view of the concretisation works on a stretch of road from Hardinge Circle to Chamaraja Wadiyar Circle starting August 17, movement of all types of vehicles is banned on the stretch, according to the police commissioner.
