A 19-year-old pillion rider was killed when a speeding car rammed the bike he was riding pillion near Kogilu junction in Yelahanka in the early hours of Sunday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Christopher, a resident of Banaswadi and a dealer in used cars and bikes. Rakesh, the motorcyclist, escaped with minor injuries. The accident occurred around 2.45 am when the duo were proceeding towards City from Devanahalli. As they reached Kogilu cross, a speeding car hit them. The passersby, who noticed the accident, informed the police and rushed the duo to a nearby hospital. . Christopher was declared brought dead, said the police.
The driver of the car fled the spot without stopping. The CCTV footages are being obtained to obtain clues, the police said.
